Born and raised in Swansea, Erica is the heart and hands behind Sŵn Y Môr Ceramics. Deeply proud of her Welsh roots, it’s the wild beauty of the land and sea that continue to shape Erica's creative world. The Gower peninsula, with its crashing waves, dancing daffodils, and playful marine wildlife (who often accompany her on sea swims), provide endless inspiration.

Her work uses both earthenware and stoneware clay, using slab building and glazes to combine whimsical decorative finishes with practicality.

Each piece begins outdoors: a beach walk, a sea dip, or a woodland ramble, followed by a flurry of ideas jotted down in her ever-present sketchbook. Erica’s designs move with the seasons — celebrating the quiet magic of the natural world as it shifts and blooms, from rich berries and holly at Christmas to the bright cheer of wildflowers in the spring. She brings warmth, colour, and a touch of playful elegance to her ceramics, often using sgraffito, a technique of carving into clay to echo the textures and patterns of nature.
