Wild Plant Paper is a collective founded by Bryan Collis. Bryan started making paper 10 years ago with a vision that combines a love for nature, thinking about how we use resources, the wellbeing benefits of being creative in the open air and a sense of social justice for people with learning disabilities and who are neurodivergent. We make paper from plants and materials we find around Swansea: recycling paper and paper cups, grass strimmings, nettles, daffodils, banana stems, forget-me-nots, willow bark, tree leaves. We use these different pulps and dried flowers, leaves, lichens and seaweed to make works of art and as a basis for printing, drawing, painting, embroidery, cards and notebooks and 3D items. Come and see how we make paper, feel the different papers, maybe make your own sheet to take away and dry at home as well as buying paper and artworks.
